YOGI ROAD TO RECOVERY – REHAB YOGA

YOGA FOR REHABILITATION, MINDFULNESS, AND MEDITATION CURRICULUM AND STAFFING SERVICES FOR ADDICTION REHABS

WHAT IS YOGI ROAD TO RECOVERY?

Yogi Road to Recovery provides drug and alcohol rehabs with a full rehab Yoga, mindfulness, and meditation curriculum taught at your rehabilitation facility. Given a clean room and quiet time, our teachers will set up a relaxing and positive space for the clients to move their bodies, stretch damaged muscles, and relax weary minds. We provide blankets, bolsters, mats, music, mood lighting, and crystals to create an atmosphere that is different from the rest of their day.

WHAT DOES YOGA HAVE TO DO WITH REHAB?

Drug and alcohol addiction rehab is a hard place to be. If you end up there, it’s because something happened in your life that was more than you could handle. So much of the recovery process is based on talking, thinking, figuring, and trying- to change your mind, your story, your reactions. These methods are proven, and they really work; however, being in the mind too much can create an imbalance, and the client needs a break so they can relax and heal.

PROVIDING A POWERFUL BALANCE

That’s where yoga, mindfulness, and meditation training comes in. It’s an opportunity for the client to process all of that work physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It allows the mind-body to rest, relax, and reboot, to prepare for the hard work still to come. Regular yoga practice as part of an exercise program in addiction treatment not only increases strength and flexibility in the client, it also calms the mind and spirit.

THE YOGI ROAD TO RECOVERY METHODOLOGY

●  Yoga poses (Asana)

●  Movement (Vinyasa)

●  Breath (Pranayama)

●  Positive attitude practice (Mudra)

●  Mind focusing chants (Mantra)

●  Mindfulness and presence (Purusha)These practices create conscious compassion for ourselves, others, and helps us see our place in the larger world (Samadhi).

The physical nature of these practices helps the client release from the self, where they often feel trapped and alone. This creates an internal relaxation that allows them the space to put their focus on healing.

PRACTICAL YOGA TOOLS FOR SUCCESS IN RECOVERY

Along the way the clients learn simple tools that they can carry with them into the world:

●  How to breathe in a way that calms you down.

●  Simple techniques to focus the mind before things spin out of control.

●  Basic exercises that calm restless bodies enduring the rigors of withdrawal.
